Unforgettable Hair
My Brides To Be ~
Happy bridal era love ♡ Thank you so much for going this far and want some pointers from me about your wedding day hair. Whether you are going with a elegant updo or Hollywood waves, they will all start the same way - by washing your hair! Strap in babe˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚
Wedding morning, we will be washing our hair. I don’t care if you gotta wake up at 6 a.m. babe, get up and do it! We got one shot to get this right the first time, and I want all your hairstyles to hold up throughout the night and photographed beautifully. Thick hair or thin hair, I want that mane washed and dried before you see my smiling face. Clarifying shampoo is good to use because it will remove all the product build up and oils from day / night prior. This isn’t a shampoo you will use daily and depending on how often you wash your hair will determine how often you’d use clarifying shampoo and I understand if that extra spending money goes elsewhere. Just a nice little product tip to throw out there, but as long as you remember to wash your hair TWICE, we’ll be good. The first wash will focus more on getting product out of the hair and the second wash is to clean your hair completely (this step is highly important to the girlies that don’t wash their hair daily). I’m a huge ride or die for Leave In Conditioner regardless of if your hair is thin, thick or curly. Ethnic hair is a completely different process and products used - I always really liked my results when I used the Mizani line (learned and worked with that line when I was behind the chair at Ulta). For my curly head girlies, I really enjoy using the PATTERN line and their products for great results on wedding day. Yes, I have some of that line in my bag to use on wedding day to tame the frizz and get your curls all bouncy, healthy and shiny looking! If you plan to wash the night before - take a few moments afterwards and blow dry your hair, don’t let it airdry and become lifeless. Wash, dry, loose ponytail, bed. - in this order because yes, we notice when your hair is dirty. Especially in the back of the head for my thick hair girlies.
Look at it this way love ~ it’s your wedding day! This is the day you’ve been waiting for; this is the day you’ve spent time planning and dedicating a portion of your life to getting it right and how you want it. You can’t achieve that Pinterest hairstyle with two-day old dirty hair or even one day. Maybe your stylist is more laid back than I about this step or doesn’t agree, but I’m stylist that will tell you over and over again to do this. As a stylist, I never want to overcompensate on hair products either meaning, I’m not going to load your dirty hair with large amounts of dry shampoo, powders, hair spray, etc. This will just build and build on the hair creating it to become dirty or even “greasy” looking. If hair is dirty like this, it’s hard to leave it styled down or even half up/ half down. The thought of curls lasting or even being good goes right out the window. Too much oil build up - I wish I could show you a photo of what it looks like on a hot curling iron (what we see). Listen babe, if you can get up for work and do this routine, you can do it for your wedding day.
Next, pass the hair care prep instructions along to your bridal party who will also be receiving hair styling services! The number of weddings we’ve done where members of the bridal parties’ hair is completely dirty is shocking. Put it this way - whoever you have planned out in your photos, is who’s washing their hair THAT day besides maybe grandma but for reasons known. Remember, we can always make your hair dirty (and we do) by our products. We can’t make your hair appear or look “clean” unless you wash it and that’s more of a reason to do so.
Let’s make your and everyone in your bridal parties’ hair spectacular! I want you and your bridal party to have and feel the full effect of working with a professional bridal team like us ── .✦
